John, an archaeologist from Durham University delivered a full day workshop to Year 3 pupils on prehistory and the Stone Age.  Pupils became archaeologists in order to investigate different artefacts from the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic eras and they learnt how to determine the age and sex of a skeleton.  They finished the day by making some fantastic stone pots.
